Ryu is First Korean American Woman Legislator in Washington

Cindy Ryu, former Shoreline Mayor 
was sworn in yesterday in Olympia.

Ryu was elected in November to serve in her first term as Legislative Representative for the 32nd LD and is a Democrat.

It is a wonderful honor and privilege to represent the parts of the state  

I love best, where I've lived and worked and raised a family with 

my husband," said Ryu, in a press release.

She was elected with 61% of the vote. She previously served as Mayor of Shoreline for two years and on Shoreline City Council and was the First Korean-American Female Mayor in America
