Schuh Farms Berries. Rasberries, Golden Rasberries and Blueberries
available at Lake City, U Dist and Phinney Farmers Markets

So many berries, people are lining up and vendors are selling out! It's a berry, berry fun time at the farmers markets now, with pretty good weather.

There are now several different local farm vendors at our Seattle Neighborhood Farmers Markets selling varietal berries, including, Rasberries, Golden rasberries, Blueberries (pictured)
and others such as Blackberries, Marion berries, Boysenberries, Gooseberries, and Loganberries.

Try some berries with Quark from Appel Farms, or make a cheesecake!  Yum!!

Did you know that Blackberries have one of the highest "soluable fiber" ratings of any foods?

Lake City Farmers Market Starts TODAY! 6/2/11

Farmers Market Season Rolling Out.

Today it's Lake City.

It's a handy one for Shoreline Shoppers. Easy biking or even walking distance.
Come on down. Even though it's a bit rainy, the food is great and the people are friendly.
Beautiful FRESH spring produce, great cheese, potatoes, pastry and lots more!
3-7pm.

The Lake City Farmers Market has become a much-loved weekday event, and a great place to pick up delicious, fresh, and healthy fruits and vegetables for dinner and the weekend ahead.  This market is also frequented by shoppers from other neighborhoods looking for a mid-week replenishing of seasonal goodies.
Each Thursday afternoon shoppers can delight in the bright colors and heady aromas of beautiful flowers, berries, tree fruit, vegetables, fresh herbs, tomatoes, greens, nuts, organic meats, seafood, baked bread and pastries, preserves and other Washington-grown foods. Shoppers can also enjoy cooking demos, produce tasting, live music, and activities for kids throughout the season (see Events page for schedules during the market season). The park also offers a playground and grassy picnic/play area right next to the Market.  For a list of vendors and products at the Lake City market in 2010, click here.
