Doe a Dear!

A deer was spotted near NE part of Shoreline, in Lake Forest Park
yesterday (Monday), according to Shoreline/LFP PATCH!
Shoreline resident Sonja Groset.

This is pretty remarkable! And a sharp eye and camera for Ms Groset!

Last year a deer was also sighted in Lake Forest Park. Deer have also been spotted in Kenmore, and Kirkland in the last year.

We always appreciate reports of wildlife sightings, and efforts to improve wildlife habitat in the Shoreline area.

  1. Hello,

Just to add to your Shoreline wildlife sightings, I have seen a peregrine falcon in North City twice this summer. There's also an osprey nest in the same area. It's been a pleasure to listen to them sing and yesterday, I am pretty sure that the fledglings were getting flying lessons. It was amazing to watch, but it also makes me sad because I know that it means they'll be leaving soon.

  2. Hi Andrea, Sorry to take so long to respond. I've been super busy this last month with a family wedding, so have not been active on the blog. It's great that you've spotted the Perigrine and Osprey. I also saw an Osprey up close at Greenlake. I will catch up soon and note your sightings.

    Best, Janet
