Oxbow Farms CSA |
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA's have been hugely successful in helping small local farms stay viable. Having members of the community guarantee certain income is a huge help to farmers trying to provide varieties of produce throughout the season. It's also a greaqt way to ensure your family a great steady supply of locally grown, healthy produce.
Londa Jacques, from Prince of Peace sends this notice today to invite the community to participate:
Prince of Peace has just become a drop-off destination for CSA deliveries from Oxbow Farms. A number of our members have signed up to participate. I wondered if you know of anyone in the neighborhood who might also be interested? Drops begin in mid-June on Fridays between 4 and 7pm. Participants receive deliveries for 20 weeks.
Cost is $600 for a Family Share and $400 for a Small Share. They have an installment plan available for folks who can’t come up with the entire amount in advance. Family shares receive a box of 10-14 different vegetables per week. Small Shares are a box of 8-12 different veggies.
CSA
- Receive 20 weeks of the freshest, tastiest local produce.
- Purchase special bulk 'canning' boxes as offered.
- Hold deliveries - use the system calendar to place your share on hold if you're going on vacation. But, please note, you will not "get your box back". Due to the nature of our CSA we cannot reimburse you for held share. So we suggest you have a friend pickup your share and share the love of fresh vegetables.
Oxbow Veggie + Okanogan Fruit Share In addition Oxbow's veggies you can add on 15 weeks of Organic Fruit from Eastern Wa. Starting in July with cherries, followed by apricots, pluots, peaches, nectarines, plums, grapes, apples & pears. | |
