Double-Crested Cormorant at Fremont Cut

The Double Crested Cormorant is often seen near our large water bodies such at the 
Fremont Ship Canal.


They can frequently be seen in a pose drying their wings, since their feathers are not "water proof" like many water birds. They search for and prey upon fish. The Ship Canal, of course is the major route for salmonids entering or exiting Lake Washington to Puget Sound.
